English is my favorite subject. I have taken English as my major for about four years. Owing to my passion for English, I have the greatest pleasure and patience in learning English. By learning English, I hope I can learn more things about English and gain access to more information with regard to foreign culture.
However, I was not interested in English at all when I was in junior high school. At that time, my English was very poor. I failed in English examination every time. Besides, English was a subject which I was very not interested in. I even didn’t like to study in English class. After the basic competence test for junior high school, everyone was busy in filling in application. My mother hoped that I could opt for Department of Applied Foreign Languages to study because she thought that English was very important for my future. Nevertheless, I was not approved the idea. I was very afraid that I was unable to learn English well as a result of the poor basis. At last, I still opted for Department of Applied Foreign Languages to study after my mother worked hard to persuade me.
When I entered in Department of Applied Foreign Languages, the journey was never smooth. I ran into a lot of setbacks and difficulties. When I was a freshman in senior high school, my English level was very awful. I even didn’t understand what the teacher talked about. I often felt very discouraged. Sometimes, I even wanted to give up. Due to teacher’s encouragement, I spent plenty of time overcoming this obstacle finally. Moreover, I tried my best to learn it well.
After going through the experience, I think nothing can keep us from moving ahead as long as we work hard. To sum up, we are bound to encounter many difficulties in our life, but I believe we can make it as long as we stay determined.

Journal 3:Labor Education
Labor education is an essential thing for every freshman in Chaoyang. It can cultivate our attitude toward working and spirit of service. Some people think that it is a meaningful thing in our university life. However, most people always complain about it. What do you think about it?
In my university life, I often heard a lot of people complaining about it, and I am no exception. I think the distribution of workload about labor education is a little bit unfair. For example, some people's works are simple and relaxing, while others works are difficult. People whose works are difficult will spend much time than other people completing this job. Sometimes, it will even affect our lunchtime. In addition, I hope to shorten time of labor education. Labor education is divided into three sessions. Some sweep the floor in the morning, some at noon, and still some others in the afternoon. I think people who sweep the floor in the morning are quite painstaking. They have to get up early every day. It is an annoying thing. I think school should take new measures. For instance, students sweep the floor once a week. Maybe the measures will bring less complaint.
Although most people often complain about labor education, there are some advantages for us. Labor education can help us make it a good rule to clean environment around. Furthermore, we can also gain some experiences from labor education. Above all, labor education can help us broaden interpersonal relationship. During labor education, we can even get acquainted with a great number of different friends. Maybe they can help me in the future when I face with difficulties.
Recently, I often think that I have already swept the floor for about two semesters. That is to say, labor education is about to end. As soon as I think I will complete labor education, I am in a good mood. I believe most people expect that the labor education can end soon.

There is an old saying that goes,” The camera never lies.” What do you think about the old saying? Some people are in favor of the saying, while other people are opposed to it. As far as I am concerned, I don’t support the old saying.
With the advent of modern technology, the functions of camera become better and better. In the past, we use traditional cameras to take pictures. Nowadays, most people use digital cameras to take photos instead. The function of digital camera is filled with variety. In addition to taking pictures, we can use it to video tape or record.
The most incredible thing is that we can use digital cameras to revise pictures. In recent years, revising picture is quite common. Many people try to use digital camera or computer to revise original pictures. Consequently, they become different from the original pictures completely. For example, many celebrities like to put some revised pictures to the Internet for the sake of having a attractive appearance. However, it will cause misunderstand for the public.
I think that photograph is a fictitious thing. Some people look beautiful in the picture originally. Furthermore, it may also be a shooting angle problem. On the other hand, some people even use the software to revise original pictures in order to look good on those pictures. The software can help us remove scar, remove acne, whiten, and so on. However, you will find that some pictures on the blogs are revised, so we should not believe photos excessively.

Paparazzi are photographers who follow some famous people in their private life. In modern society, paparazzi are quite common. They often create a great number of scandals which are related to celebrities. Besides, they even provide a number of private photos for newspaper office. For many celebrities, paparazzi are the bane of their life.
What do you think about paparazzi? Some people think that paparazzi bring us advantages, while other people think that paparazzi bring us disadvantages. The main advantage is that paparazzi can help us supervise government official or famous people. When some politicians receive bribes, paparazzi will reveal the secret to the public. In addition, paparazzi also expose the unsavory conduct right away when celebrities have extramarital affairs. As a result of these gossip, our life gain a lot of pleasure.
Although paparazzi bring us lots of fun in our life, they can have a bad effect on society. For example, they often pry into the private matters of other people and violate people’s privacy. Moreover, they always focus on some petty things. To make matters worse, they exaggerate the importance of the event or make up a fake news in order to attract the public. As a matter of fact, it is a behavior which does not respect other’s privacy.
As far as I am concerned, I am opposed to paparazzi. I think that paparazzi should be stopped. Recently, I read an article. I am in favor of the statement. “I think that paparazzi should leave the celebrities alone. We all have lives to live. Journal1: My First Winter Vacation in College
It was a quite amused thing for most of people that the winter vacation was so long. About my winter vacation, it was filled with fun. During the winter vacation, I took a trip to many places with my friends, including Taipei, Miaoli, Changhua.
However, Taipei is one of the most impressive trips. The first day, we took the bus to Taipei. After that, we took the MRT to Tamsui instead. There was a variety of local cuisine on the old street. We ate a-gai, fish ball soup, iron eggs, and so on. After eating, we took a boat to the other side of the river. We admired the beautiful scenery around Tamshui River. At night, I went to Shih-lin Night Market. The night market was crowded with people. We bought some things and ate variety kinds of delicious food. The next day, we decided to go to Taipei Zoo. I saw many animals, such as koala, penguin, gorilla, giraffe, and panda. In addition, I took lots of fascinating pictures as a memory. To sum up, it is a pleasant journey.
Furthermore, I was very happy to have a reunion with my classmates in senior high school. We hadn’t already gathered together for a long time. To my surprise, some people changed a lot, like hair styles and dressing. We shared many interesting things about university life with one another. Although we seldom met with one another, I believed that our friendship would last forever.
During the winter vacation, I had a good time. I hope that I will be happy and smooth in the new year. In conclusion, I wish everyone a happy and successful new year.
